Summary

April 29, 1955: Patsy Cline makes her first appearance along with Bill Peer and His Melody Boys in the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival Parade in Winchester.

Doris Kelley Barker I loved her singing. When I was a child, they ran a B&O train from Brunswick to Winchester so that all of us (my family) would ride it to the Apple Blossom parade. Mae Long and Phyllis, mother and I would do some shopping in the downtown stores and then see that magnificent parade. The last time we saw it, Bing Crosby was at the head of the parade and we loved him and were so happy. Those days are gone forever but the parade is still happening and will always. Winchester is a fine city in Virginia.
