Himes Country Store
1324 Weverton Rd, Weaverton (Knoxville, Md)

This store was built in 1931 by Joseph Himes and has always been in the Himes family. His son Roger and wife Dot took over operation of the business and raised their family (Gene, Gary & Joey) in this same building. All of the Himes family has at one time worked in the store.

Just about anybody who heated with coal knew the Himes family, that was also part of the business. Dot lived there until her death with her son Gary who now operates the family business along with his wife Martha (Sam).

The original Himes store built in 1912 was destroyed when Rt. 67 was built in the 1960's.
