The NAHS was established in 1978 in the United States by the National Art Education Association for high school students grades 9-12.

Its purpose is recognize high school students who demonstrate an outstanding ability and interest in art and promotes the highest standards in art scholarship, character, and service by bringing art education to the attention of the school and community.

Currently about 58,000 students nationwide are members of the National Art Honor Society at the high school and middle school levels.

I’m not sure, but I think former Art Teacher Teressa Blickenstaff was the advisor for the NAHS at Brunswick. When I retired in 2009 the school’s NAHS was still active, but I do not know if it is currently active and if so whom its advisor might be.
