Summary

Sad photo of the B&O YMCA a couple weeks after the November 7, 1980 fire. According to records, the street was closed and the building was put under constant watch for a few days. The Veterans Day Parade was re-routed in fear of a rekindling, yet it stayed up through the holiday season, and finally the remains were demolished in January of 1981.

Reuben Moss: Fire was November 7, 1980, the day after the 73rd anniversary of opening day, I believe. I also will mention that the new YMCA (Green Country Inn) was opened in 1986, giving a 6 year gap where crews were shipped out of town for nighttime lodgings.
