Joan Hardy Morris: GrandMa Brooks also made many quilts from material left over from the dresses and aprons she made (all by hand). I love my quilt. She gave me one as a wedding present. She never wore short sleeves. I remember that someone gave her a dress with short sleeves. She wore a long sleeved blouse with it. She was a great cook and made a great yellow cake with "ORANGE" flavored chocolate icing and great cole slaw too.
