We need another place like that for family dinners. Mr. And Mrs. Compher were so friendly. When my father Red Russell would go crabbing in Calvert County (he would always bring back fresh soft shell crabs back and sell them to Mr. Compher. | Best place for spaghetti and meatballs. This was my 1st job when I was 14yo. I was hired as a pizza maker/dishwasher for 1.50 an hour. I worked every evening T-F and all day Saturday. I helped every Saturday to peel garlic for the spaghetti sauce which Josie made from scratch in huge pots every Saturday. I learned how to make homemade spaghetti sauce, manicotti, and lasagna from Josie. The Compher's treated me like family and I vacationed with them to New Jersey to meet all of Josie's family. I worked there until I was 17. I have so many memories of the wonderful people I worked with, the regular customers, and of course the Compher's.
