These photos show the members and advisor of the National Art Honor Society in 2001-02. The National Art Honor Society was established in 1978 in the United States by the National Art Education Association for high school students grades 10-12, with the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. Its purpose is to assist student members to attain their highest potential in all forms of art, and to raise awareness of art education throughout the school and community. As Jabe Winnings commented – “NAHS is a good opportunity for me to learn to draw better and improve my skills.” BTW – Currently Mike Chilcutt is the principal at Smithsburg High School in Washington County Maryland.
