This photo is from 1996 and it shows Brunswick Seniors participating in the annual spirit assembly at the start of football season.

As can be seen, to show their school spirit some of these Seniors painted their faces, dressed in school colors, or even painted their entire bodies with garnet and gold colors.

Knowing this would be their last pep rally at BHS, many Seniors went all out in showing their school spirit.

Usually during Spirit Week each day of the week had a particular designation for how to dress. Over the years these days included Pajama Day, Nerd Day, Garnet and Gold Day, Decade Day, Silly Hat Day, and Twinsie Day, to name just a few.

Also each class was given a hallway in the high school to decorate, later moved to sections in the old gym which were then judged for the creativity in connection with the theme for that year. Occasionally from time to time I was given the honor of being a judge, and often I also dressed up for a particular Spirit Day theme.
