Brunswick | Granny, Anna Greenfield, with some of her children - Pat Greenfield, Jean (Greenfield) Baker, Betty (Greenfield) Merriman, Bill Greenfield, Lucille (Greenfield) Snoots, and Leona (Greenfield) Merriman. Granny was a licensed midwife serving Brunswick for many years. She had a medical black bag and she went on calls up into her 60s. She sometimes went on snow plow, garbage truck, or even on foot to go to deliveries. She delivered many in the community including some of her grandchildren. Dorothy M. Van Steinburg: Mrs. Greenfield was with my Mom for all of her children's births except one...she actually delivered my sister and fussed out Dr. Carpenter when he arrived a bit too late! She was a sweetheart! | |||
