Summary

Fire Hall Dance in 1958 - On the left is Bessie Cummings wife of then Mayor Jim Cummings in front of the transaction with Connie Nicholson, the cigarette girl. The picture on the right shows Fire Chief Sonny Cannon with Millard J. Tawes right after Tawes was elected governor of MD. Sonny was a power broker when politicians campaigned town-to-town in the retail politics of those days.
