There were several pilots in Brunswick who flew from this little airport including Harry Payne (Pharmacist), Bill Care (Businessman) and Jimmy Ridgeway (Grocery Store owner). Some of the local kids in the CAP Program were Woody Bohrer, Richard Care, Bobby Frye and Cathy Heflin, among others." | ||

Summary
This was the Brunswick Civil Air Patrol sometime in the 1950s. The CAP was related to the old Brunswick landing strip where the Camp Ground is now located. According to Norm Cornelius, "The Civil Air Patrol remained a functional group for many years after the landing strip was closed. It was a great experience for local kids who were interested, similar to scouting. There were several pilots in Brunswick who flew from this little airport including Harry Payne (Pharmacist), Bill Care (Businessman) and Jimmy Ridgeway (Grocery Store owner). Some of the local kids in the CAP Program were Woody Bohrer, Richard Care, Bobby Frye and Cathy Heflin, among others."
