ABHTBT (Another Brunswick High Throw Back Thursday) – This photo is from 1987 and shows BHS students who attended the FCPS School of the Visual and Performing Arts.

At the school of the arts, three advanced visual and performing programs were offered. The prerequisite to enter these programs was one had to be a Junior or Senior. Then students were chosen by their audition and apparent talent.

The FCPS Visual and Performing Arts program encourages students to develop and value artistic creations as a means to communicate ideas, thoughts, feelings and emotions. Through their study of art, music, drama and dance, students learn to plan, develop and present artistic products or performances that reflect their own creativity. Students are also encouraged to try new combinations of tools, resources, techniques and approaches throughout their study.

Nearly thirty-one years, later both of these programs are still part of the FCPS system.
