This photo is from 1984 and shows the team members and manager of the BHS Junior Varsity Basketball Team.
This was a successful season for the team not only for its win-loss record (13-2) but also as a team building year. As true of all JV programs, the purpose of it was to develop players’ abilities so that they could eventually enhance the Varsity squad when they moved up to that level of competition.
Basketball is a game and should be treated as such but it is also an avenue for players to show their discipline and control both on and off the court.
In 1984, both the Brunswick High School (grades 9-12th) and Brunswick Middle School (grades 6-7th) existed in the same building. At that time there were no 9th grade sports teams so BHS basketball was made up a Junior Varsity Team and a Varsity Team.
