Aunt Patty was the 1st female principal in Frederick County at Middletown Elementary. The Wenner sisters of Brunswick, daughters of Charles Malcolm and Edna Garrott Wenner, at Miss Patty Wenner's home on E. B Street in the mid-1970s. Miss Wenner was the first woman principal in Frederick County. Her sisters all taught school prior to marriage.
