Summary
The cabins where we slept at Camp Greentop looked a lot like this, but the beds weren't as nice in the late Sixties.
Some memories include:
Angela Berry Selby I stayed there in 92 and my cabin had metal cots. My cabin also had a fireplace. Not that we used it, but a baby ring-necked snake fell down the chimney and into the fireplace. 😳
Peter Wenner In the Fall of 1968, Marty Cusack kept us up laughing most of one night reciting the Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-in line “look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls.” After the 2nd night of that, the counselor made us get out of bed and do push-ups. We shut up after that.
Brenda Barger Swiger
I can't remember if this was the style of bed. However, I do remember how cold it was in the unheated cabins and many of us slept two people to a sleeping bag to stay warm and the cold air coming in through the cracks behind our heads. Mrs. Gross was our cabin teacher and we had a "night pot" (our cabin secret) so we didn't have to tramp through the woods in the dark to use the bathroom.
Cathy McKenzie Spence I was there in October 1982. It was so cold then and the windows were broken so there was cold air all the time. When I went back as a counselor. the kids and I used my hairdryer for heat.
