Eleanor Watkins Wenner in front of husband W.B. Wenner's City Meat Market on W. Potomac Street where the ambulance company is today. She was holding niece Sue Ann Wenner from Columbia City, Indiana, in the late-1930s. Mrs. Wenner is wearing the dress women staffers wore in the store. Someone from the family always worked on the premises.
In the background across the street is the Mace Building where Mayor Harry Mace sold furniture and household appliances for years until his death in 1954. It is the longtime home of King's Pizza.
A business partner as well as wife for elder Bill, Mrs. Wenner managed the Wenner properties in Brunswick and Pic'a Wenner Apartments in Ocean City where many Brunswick families vacationed from the 1940s through the '60s.
