Brunswick: 100 Years of Memories Keenan, Alvey Dayton (1895-1918) Honored 1985 Alvey Dayton Keenan moved to Brunswick as a child and worked on the railroad as an electrician. He entered the Army infantry in 1917 and participated in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in France. He was killed in action, the first Brunswick soldier to die in World War I. Brunswick Legionnaires honored him by naming American Legion Post 96 the Steadman-Keenan Post.
