Brunswick: 100 Years of Memories (1990) Myers, William Carlos (1918- ) Honored l987 After graduating from BHS in 1935, Carlos “Bo” Myers attended Strayer Business College in Washington, then held jobs asBrunswick’s Assistant Town Clerk, secretary to former State Senator John Funk, and in the War Department’s Adjutant General’s office in Washington. He returned to hishome town in 1946 to work for the Bank of Brunswick, and retired from that institution 37 years later as its Executive Vice President. He gives voluntary service to many community activities.

Mr. W. CARLOS MYERS, 79, of 16 Central Ave., Brunswick, died Sunday, Feb. 23, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Elizabeth Frye Myers. Born Jan. 26, 1918 in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Joseph William and Maude Ella Moore Myers.

Mr. Myers was retired head of operations and director with the Bank of Brunswick, retiring in 1983 after 37 years of service. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Brunswick. He was a member and master of Brunswick Lodge 191 AF&A Masons, a former member and past president of the Brunswick Lions Club, and former president and secretary of the Brunswick Community Chest. He served on Brunswick's first Industrial Development Commission and on the original Planning and Zoning Board.

He was a graduate of Brunswick High School and a graduate of Strayer College, Washington, DC. After graduating from college, he worked for state Sen. John Funk for a year then in the Brunswick town office as assistant clerk. He worked a year in the Foreign Securities Administration in Frederick. He worked for six years in the Adjutant General's office as a civilian from 1940 through 1946, before he returned to the area to work for the Bank of Brunswick.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, William C. Myers, Jr.; and two grandsons.

Funeral services were held at the John T. Williams Funeral Home; interment was in Park Heights Cemetery, Brunswick.
