The school reopened in September, 1928 with the addition of an auditorium to the rear of the school, which also served as a gymnasium. Mrs. Dinterman, who was active in community groups, lived to the ripe old age of 100. She was presented with a certificate of recognition by Mayor Jeff Snoots proclaiming "January 22, 2020 as Mabel Virginia Dinterman Day" shortly before her passing in April of that year. Marie and sister Maude Custer ran the M&M Market next to Brunswick Florist shop on W. Potomac Street across from the People's National Bank. Their store was known for their excellent homemade fudge and other candies....)
