Brunswick School: Brunswick High School

This photo is from 1986 and shows BHS-ers who were part of the Maryland Girls’ State leadership program for young women in their Junior year at high school. The program is sponsored through local American Legions.

Girls’ State is a place where girls learn about the American government. Different lobbyists and officials came to speak about government in the state of Maryland.

While attending their conference at the state level, students run for imaginary offices from the local level to the General Assembly. At the end two student senators were chosen to attend the Girls’ Nation conference.
