Mayor Smith was born and raised in Harriman, Tennessee on November 24, 1944 and moved to Brunswick in 1978.
What he is most proud of as Mayor are:
1. Keeping the Tax rate at or below Constant Yield 2. Giving Slow Pitch Field to Little League 3. Buying Property and designing and building Square Corner Park 4. Starting 4th of July Fire Works for City. 5. Situating City Hall downtown.
He says there are other things, but it would be boring.
