Brunswick People
One of many romances that started in Brunswick is still going strong 45 years after. Back in 1970 Keith Felix traveled 85 miles to see his sweetheart at 332 W. Potomac Street and win the affections of the matriarch of her family. It was successful as Wilma Straight gave this lovesick puppy permission to date her granddaughter Barbara Streight.
According to Barb, the wedding was scheduled to take place at Brunswick’s First Methodist Church, the same venue in which Barbara's parents were married, but tragically Wilma died 2 months before. Keith's love, respect and adoration of her hospitality, love, and approval has lasted a lifetime. To this day, memories of Wilma Streight brings the same sparkle in his eyes as it did almost a half century ago. (Photo courtesy of Barbara Streight Felix from Smoketown History)
