Summary
This photo show the members of 1982-83 Boys Varsity Soccer Team.
To paraphrase Coach Alan Lesscalleet’s comments in the 1983 Yearbook, the season was one of mixed emotions for the soccer team.
The team did not make the Regional playoffs, one significant reason being the number and extend of the team’s injury list. This resulted in the Railroaders often being forced to play individuals out of position and use limited substitutions.
However, the team did have its first MVAL victory with a 3-1 triumph over the Catoctin Cougars.
Also, the BHS team was the recipient of many individual honors for the season. Ron Humbel, Brad Foltz, and Chris Krivos were selected for the All-MVAL Team.
The five players Ron Humbel, Brad Foltz, David Wigfield, Chris Krivos, and David Lambert were selected for All-County honors.
Although it was a tough year for the team. As Coach Lescallet commented “With the help and support of the Brunswick community, we hope to make Railroader Soccer one of the finest in the area.”
