Summary

Brass sign at the home of Dr. W.B. Watson, Dentist, on W. Potomac Street. The first "Doc" Watson operated his practice there.

In addition to serving as the town dentist, Doc Watson owned the Cut Rate on the SE corner of W. Potomac and Maryland Ave where he sold patent medicines and operated a popular soda fountain and grill. The Cut Rate was famous for its cheeseburger patty melts.
