Summary

To mark the 60th anniversary of Railroaders Little League baseball, here's Lee "Babo" Merriman and the Cubs prior to the first pitch of the inaugural game in April, 1954. Recognize any of the players?

H Walker Smith: In 1954 the league was called the Rail Road Little League. The Cubs, Bears and Tigers were from Brunswick but the Lions were from Point of Rocks. The Lions coaches were Charlie Harper and Ed Green. I played for the Lions in 1954 and 1955. We lost the 1955 championship to the Tigers 3 games to 1. I've posted a picture of the four teams in 1955. I'm the second Lion from the left.
