Summary

Early photo of Himan N. (Harry) Werntz, a leading Brunswick merchant and member of the local Jewish community for several generations. This is his early 20th century passport application for a trip to visit his parents in his native Lithuania or as it was known, Upnya.

Census records show that Mr. Werntz was in business as a grocer in 1910. He was listed as a general merchant in 1930. His family business on 1st Avenue & E. Potomac Street across from the YMCA was a Brunswick institution until his death in 1961.
