Summary

Mayor James (Jim) Cummings with Sharon Hebb as she was crowned Miss Diamond Jubilee during the 75th anniversary of Brunswick between Aug 28,---September 6, 1965 at the old Fire Hall.

Sharon commented, "This was one of the happiest days of my life. My Dad (Shadow Hebb) had just passed away in Feb., so winning Mis Diamond Jubilee was very special. Brunswick came alive. Women were dressing in long dresses with bonnets or garden hats. Men were growing beards. The town was buzzing. My Mom (Patsy Hebb) had made dresses for her and I. One of the dresses she made for me was a red & white dotted swiss with a matching parasol & garden hat. I felt like Scarlett O'Hara. I wish I would have saved that dress. Every night for a week the whole town put on a show that drew crowds from all the local towns and then some. What a show.

Nancy Baker: I love this. My older brother Galen carried the train on her robe.
