George W. Lowery Sr. was born in his parents home on Gum Spring Road, Brunswick Maryland, in April 1925. He served in the Navy during World War II, returned from the Navy and worked for several years on the Railroad as a Brakeman. He later went to work at Fort Detrick as a plumber, and then worked in the same capacity for Dulles Airport until his retirement. This photo was taken as an 8th grader at BHS.
