Summary
Great view of the old commercial area in the 100 block of E. Potomac Street in Brunswick across from the B&O YMCA and emergency hospital in the late 1940s or early '50s. The WB Tower is visible behind the Y.
The Werntz store on the corner of 1st Avenue housed a general store that faced Potomac Street and a grocery store in the back. Further on down the block at different times were Foster's Restaurant, the post office, a hotel and Cage's Garage.
Across the street from Cages was the Whistle Stop restaurant (later the laundromat in a building that's still standing), then Jim Ridgeways grocery store that was later operated by Junior Moler.
