Summary

The 1980 Yearbook was dedicated to Carol Smith, a BHS icon who could always be found in the high school gym or out on one of the athletic play fields. She started the first girls track program, coached the girls' field hockey teams, and became the county's first female Athletic Director. She was also a presence at almost every sporting event held at Brunswick. Carol was a mentor to me and many other coaches, but her biggest contribution was what she did for the students both the athletes and non-athletes. Her office door was always open to anyone and in many ways it was an auxiliary guidance office especially for those who needed to talk but preferred not to take their concerns through normal channels. ;
