Summary
From the 1988 Year Book:
This photo is from the 1988 BHS Yearbook and shows the members of the Glee Club. A glee club is a musical or choral group which traditionally specializes in the singing of short songs called "glees" by trios or quartets. Nowadays they are also known for singing choral music in close harmony, and normally without instrumental accompaniment. The first named Glee Club was founded at the Harrow School, in London, England in 1787. Glee clubs were very popular in the UK from then until the mid-1850s but by then they were gradually being superseded by choral societies. In the late 19th century it was very popular in most schools and was made a tradition to have in American high schools from then on. I'm not sure how long a Glee Club continued to exist at BHS after this photo, but I don't remember one in the latter half of my time at Brunswick :=)! Top to Bottom: Tammy Haynes, Rob Nutter, Susan Allen, Tom Craven, Tonya Dorsey, Charlene Holtzman, Becky Brown, Lorraine Rudy, Catherine Coates, Penny Hawker, Natalie Moss.
