Summary

This photo is from 1988-89 and shows the members of the Math Club. The Math Club's purpose was to promote interest and excitement about mathematics in a friendly, collaborative environment. The club sought to extend mathematical knowledge and critical thinking skills acquired in math class by practicing math contest problems during meetings in an effort stimulate the mind and enhance pattern recognition and logical reasoning capabilities. The club also provided tutoring services to fellow students seeking to raise their knowledge and understanding of mathematics. It participated in celebrating Pi Day. This day is observed on March 14 (3/14 in the month/day date format) since 3, 1, and 4 are the first three significant digits of π.
