Summary

This photo is from 2001 and shows the members the Needlework Club. Needlework is a broad term for the art or practice of decorative sewing, embroidery handicrafts and other textile arts. Anything that uses a needle for construction can be called needlework. This definition may be expanded to include related textile crafts such as a crochet hook, embroidery, "Sashiko" (a Japanese embroidery technique), counted cross stitch and crewel (embroidery using wool traditionally stitched on linen). Similar abilities often transfer well between the different varieties of needlework, such as fine motor skill and a knowledge of textile fibers.
