"The goal of the cross country team as established by Coaches Anne and Lee Zumbach was to compete and win all four of the major championships including states. The girls' team met this goal by going 12-0 for the season and winning the MVAL, County, Regional, and State. "Coach Anne Zumbach was Co-Coach of the year. At the banquet [Freshman] Adrian Unger was named "Most Outstanding." Lori Tregoning won the "Coach's Award for Most Spirited." Karen Carpenter was "Most Dedicated" and Kendra Wenner was "Most Improved." Rob Stull was "Most Outstanding" for the guys, while Daryl Barnhouse [not in photo] was "Most Improved." Cindy Abrecht was the "PVYA Scholar Athlete" in cross country. Senior Lori Tregoning commented, "It was great being part of such a dedicated team that led us to an undefeated season and a state championship. It's a great way to end my four years."
