Summary

Brunswick Distinguished Citizen Estella Belt stands beside the sign at the entrance to Othello Regional Park, which was named in honor of her great-great-grandfather, a Black slave who became free after the Civil War.

Mrs. Belt resides just across the road from the park on the grounds of Crown Rose Estate. She and her husband James both worked for the Delmar family, who previously owned the estate. Mr. Belt also worked on the Flook farm where the park is situated.
