Ann Griffis: My father owned Watson's Cut Rate at 44 W. Potomac St. My grandfather, Dr. W. B. Watson was a dentist and practiced out of his home at 401 W. Potomac St. My nephew, Wade Watson, lives in the old family home on Petersville Rd. Dec 18, 2012

Ann, how was Mr Watson the mailman related, I know some people called him Doc Watson. Was the nickname because of the family career? My Mom Millie Merchant worked with him at the post office and we use to skate on the pond. Mid to late sixties.........Nancy

Ann Griffis: He was my father. Before he worked at the post office, he owned Watson's Cute Rate at 44 W. Potomac St. He sold it in 1962 to Bob Moler who opened the pharmacy there. My dad was called "Doc" because of his father who was a dentist.
