Summary

This is an example of the "Key to My Kentucky Home" certificates awarded to members of Brunswick's 1966 Maryland State Champion Little League All-Star team when they advanced to the regional playoffs in Louisville, Kentucky. This certificate was given to Ronnie Pearl.

Brunswick won the opener over Delaware 12-4, but were eliminated 4-3 by Virginia.

Many Brunswick residents traveled to Louisville to support the team.

Rhonda Wenner Renn My parents, brother, and I went on the train. Some of my aunts, uncles, and cousins went too. My cousin, Craig Crowl, was on the team. Quite a fun trip!

Gloria Moore Crowl My husband, Alan, his mother Geneva, my brother Denny and I drove out to see Craig play. Rhonda is right, it was a fun trip!

Mike Campbell I was on that team. Back then, the players were the base coaches. Buddy Cunningham and I were the base coaches. If I remember right, Paul Orrison would send us the sign from the dugout and we would send it to the batter. For a bunt we would stand on the coaches box line closest to home plate, for a steel we would stand on the line closest to first or third base. Gary Carter was the room chaperone for the 11 year olds, we all stayed in one room. During a pillow fight, Gary hit me and I hit the floor, next thing I remember is being on the bed with the team around me until I regained consciousness.

Thomas George Mike Campbell, Paul used the same signals in '69.

Mike Campbell Pee Wee Reese was at the tournament too. He was from Louisville Kentucky. My brother Rick Campbell had an instamatic camera and took his picture. Pee wee Reese autographed the picture that my brother Rick took and I still have it to this day.
