Summary
The headline under this Blade-Times photo dated April 8, 1965 read "Bleachers in Place". These were the then new bleachers behind home plate at the Brunswick High School and community baseball field on the hill above the school prior to the Fall 1965 opening for the 1965-66 school year. The field officially opened for the MARVA Babe Ruth League on May 1, 1965. It replaced Scheer Stadium, the longtime Brunswick sandlot that opened in 1928 on the site of the current BHS football field and track.
