Summary
The old bowling alley on Souder Road in 1962. The lanes were operated by Jim Schamel. Mayor Jim Cummings is walking off the left lane and his wife Bessie is sitting on the left.
The building was torn down after a strong wind blew the roof off and the back wall collapsed on August 22, 1983.

Allen Baker Jr: I use to go there in late 60's with Wayne Demory, my sister Christine, and Shirley, Shelley Williams and to the late 70's. Once in a while, when Jim was short on help, I would go to the back, to help reset the lane that was having problems. Jim Schemal was a great guy and I met a lot of Good Friends at the Old Brunswick Bowling Alley.
John V. McMurry Sr: That strong wind sounded like a train. It woke me up. It also knocked a couple of trees down in the neighborhood. Two in my yard. Dot Cullen worked behind the snack bar for a while. I would get a drink we called once around the fountain. Coke, orange, root beer, grape and sprite . About equal amounts. Tasted pretty good.
Lisa Moss Westfall: I loved the bowling alley, I lived there most of the time as a kid. Ray Turner owned it then, in fact my Dad George worked there & bowled several nights a week, my Mom worked the snack bar. When the bowling alley collapsed, my Dad was bowling that night, & Ray, & another man were down back behind the lanes working & everything just collapsed, & my Dad went & pulled them out of the debris. The snack bar area remained standing. I sure miss that place, & bowling on a league with my Dad, he & I bowled in the Adult mixed doubles league, & took first 1yr, & 2nd the other.
