Abbie was born in Frederick, graduated from Thomas Johnson in Frederick and now lives near Burkittsville, MD but she has been a big part of the Brunswick business scene for a long time.
Her Father Leroy Strawsburg bought Brunswick Hardware in 1973 and Abbie joined him in 1976 and they with other family members worked the Hardware store until 2018. In March of 2019 Brunswick Hardware became Brunswick Sports and Apparel still run by the family with new family members now involved the business. Signs, embroidery, laser engraving, sports clothing and supplies are available. They are working to make their fishing tackle a destination business.
Abbie has been part of the Brunswick GBACC and the business community for a long time. She has served as Vice President, Secretary and Member of Large of GBACC over the years. Abbie was also the Chair of Brunswick Main Street for five years, EDC Vice Chair and is now Chair of Canal Towns Partnership.
