Rhonda Rooney: It was an awesome place... Coach's one burger called the Coach's Special was to die for...It was composed of a really large burger with coleslaw on it. Coach would let us have street dances out in the parking lot. The fun we had in the 70's... at Coach's Drive In. I worked the summer of 75 after attending my first year of college at Shepherd. The name when I worked there was "The Whistle Stop".It was a busy place especially after ball games in the Summer months. I think every child and adult would come for ice cream.
Pam Harrison and I worked there when Coach's first opened in summer of 1965. We were paid 65 cents an hour. Cleaning the machines at night was the worst! Uncle Herb was the best of the best. My mother worked there too. The whole family misses him. Gwynn Daugherty
