Summary

This photo is from the 1985-86 school yearbook which I believe was the first year Lillie Morris was at Brunswick High School. The two things I like about this photo are Lillie's smile and the joy of life sparkle that was a constant in her eyes. To say that she was quick to flash a smile upon people is an understatement, and her smile was so bright it could light up anybody's day. Lillie's Christian faith was the bedrock of who she was and she always found the good in others. Here on earth she lived by Christ's words to "Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven." As hard as it may be to believe I certain that even in death she would ask forgiveness for the person who took her life here on earth. Here are just a few comments made about Lillie after her death: "Mrs. Morris was the most kind hearted Christian woman I have ever met. She was such an inspiration to so many students at BHS." "She will be remembered by many as a great coach, colleague, inspiration to students and friend. But most of all she will be remembered for her kindness." "I don't know how I would have got through high school without her pushing me every day!" "I will always remember her waiting to give me her smile and hug when I was down and out." "She was a great coach … a great mentor [and] her wisdom … spread upon us all." "God has an angel with a big smile on her face!" As so many can a test to, I was truly blessed to have known Lillie while working at BHS ;=)!
