Summary
Mrs. Duane Smith, former BES teacher and wife of then Principal Dr. Lee Smith, provided the Brunswick Citizen with this fantastic photo of BHS Class of '67 students in a "Hillbilly-themed" event at Brunswick Elementary School in 1960 when the school was still relatively new. The photo was taken on the stage of the auditorium.
According to Linda Kidwiler Henson: "Picture of 5th grade classmates, graduating class of 1967. Play entitled 'School is out at Hillbilly Hollow'. I still have the words and songs for this play. Great memories."

Vicki Pennington: Mrs. Smith was the children's choir director at the Methodist church that is now New Hope. I was in the choir.
Phil Lowery: I remember Mrs Duane Smith teaching music. I think she left teaching when I was still in BES. Duane's sister-in-law Nancy Virts replaced her teaching music.
