Summary
1984 Yearbook and shows the BHS Varsity Football Team. The 1983 Varsity Football season was a surprise to many, because with 20 players and a new head coach (Kevin Reily) they were picked to finish no better than 2-8.
Winning their first four games they were ranked one of the top teams in the area for five weeks and at the end of the season players Brian Ebersole, Mark Switlick, Dale Stocks and Brian Ebersole received recognition on the all MVAL team. I'm not aware on any former BHS Varsity Football player ever going on to play in the NFL but I imagine that if you asked most who played for Brunswick they would tell you that playing this sport (or any sport) taught them the value of team work, self discipline, and pushing oneself beyond one's limits. Learning and retaining these qualities is valuable no matter what one does after high school :=)! Front Row (L to R) - Keith Orndorff, James Naylor, David Powell, Billy Cockerham, Guy Markin, Dale Stocks, Billy Brewster Middle Row - Brian Ebersole, Tony Hamilton, Chris Morton, Mark Switlick, Alan Grove, Greg Tashbar, Ricky Pearl, Top Row - Jerry Hagan, Richard Metheny, Neil Porter, Jim Stewart, David Knott, Jay Caniford, Jeffery Jones Coaches (L to R) - Mike Mummert, Terry Brant, Kevin Reily, Jeff Warfle
