This photo is from the 2000-2001 yearbook and shows student members of the Future Teacher of America Club and its advisor Mr. Frank Booth.
The Brunswick chapter was part of the National Future Teachers of America Organization. As its advisor, Mr. Booth taught FTA members how to develop lesson plans and how to fully explain a topic to all those in a classroom. Both are important aspects of being a good teacher.
To paraphrase Frank, the club was for Railroaders seriously thinking about a career in education. Along with lesson plans, FTA members created classroom posters and organizing displays for American Education Week.
Some even got to take “the reins, so to speak” by participating in Senior Teach week.
