Gross Brothers Store

In all of the early Brunswick stores, customers had to ask the shop clerks to pull items down off the high shelves. This is Gross Brothers store on Maryland Avenue--1920s? Charles Gross in standing in the middle and his brother Bill Gross on the right.

See the fresh pies and bread in the foreground. In those days, potato chips were also sold fresh served out of barrels. White's, which was located next to the bank, was the first self-service store in Brunswick.
