Summary

The old Guyton Store on the Burkittsville square corner in the 1970s. You entered the store on the right where you see the screen door and a sign.

This was back when Burkittsville was served by 3 stores selling gas, groceries and other items. It's cut off, but you can see the Gordon's store sign across the street to the left.

Here's the history from the museum collection:

Garland Guyton owned and operated this general store from the 1930s until it closed in the late-1970s. Prior to Guyton's proprietorship, the store was owned by the Hightman and later Huffer families.
