Summary

The Hasselbach family burial ground behind the Bishop Claggett Center near Adamstown contains the bodies of unidentified slaves. The old Buckingham School and plantation buildings are located on the grounds of the Maryland Episcopal Diocesan Center and Retreat.

Smoketown History (Brunswick, Md.) It's in the middle of a farmer's field behind Claggett Center and Buckingham's Choice Retirement Center around the intersection of Rt 85 and Rt 80 as you drive from Adamstown towards Buckeystown. Rev. Bill Fallowfield had a lot to do with cleaning up the burial ground when he was director of Claggett Center.
