DR. H.V. HOVERMALE, ILL TEN DAYS, DIES - Dr. Howard V. Hovermale, well-known and highly respected druggist of Brunswick, died suddenly at his home Saturday afternoon of dilation of the heart, aged 45 years. Dr. Hovermale had been complaining for about 10 days with the grip, but had been able to be about. Just before his death he had walked to his drug store and then returned home.

Dr. Hovermale had lived in Brunswick practically all of his life and conducted one of that city's largest drug stores at the time of his death. He had been in the drug store business for about 17 years and had watched his store grow from a small place to one with a flourishing business. His store was located on Potomac street, between Virginia and Delaware avenues.

He is survived by his wife, one, son, Howard W. Hovermale and one daughter, Thelma A. Hovermale, also his aged father and mother, Frederick W. and Mathilda Rockwell Hovermale, New York Hill, Brunswick; one brother, Thomas Hovermale and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Tedrick, Brunswick, and Mrs. Blanche Miller, Brownsville, Washington County. He was a member of the Masonic order in Brunswick.

Funeral services were held at the Southern Methodist Church; the Masonic lodge had charge of the services; interment was in Park Heights Cemetery; arrangements by C.H. Feete and Son, funeral directors.

Hovermale came to Brunswick as a youth and clerked in the B&O yards. He served an apprenticeship in pharmacy with Dr. Arlington Horine and later received a degree in pharmacy in Georgia. He established his own drug store at 224 West Potomac Street in 1913. He was a member of the Maryland Pharmaceutical Association, the Brunswick Band, and several lodges.
