Summary

Howard Marvin Jones (1874-1955) came to Brunswick in 1896 and established a dry goods store on East Potomac Street in partnership with Austin Robinson, eventually expanding his business to Charles Town, Winchester, and Frederick. In 1908, Jones was appointed Magistrate by Governor Austin Lane Crothers.

According to "Brunswick: 100 Years of Memories", "his name was synonymous with the Real Estate and Insurance business in Brunswick and he helped the needy."

He was a director of the Peoples National Bank and member of several fraternal organizations in Brunswick including the Masons, Red Men, Eagles, and Knights of Pythias.
